The Steinway Society of Nashville Welcomes You

Welcome to the inaugural event of the Nashville International Piano Competition. A lot of time and effort has been put forth over the last three years to make this wonderful idea become a reality. Many thanks to the influential community leaders, teachers and musicians who volunteered to be on the organizing committee to help this event come to fruition.

The Steinway Society of Nashville was established twenty years ago with Steinway artist Marilyn Shields-Wiltsie serving as president since its inception. Over the years, the Steinway Society has featured many wonderful performances on a Steinway & Sons concert grand piano in the intimate setting of the Steinway Recital Hall, which is part of the Steinway Piano Gallery of Nashville.

The Steinway Society desired to be more than just a group that enjoyed great music on a great piano. Why not make a difference in a young aspiring pianist’s life and career? This is when the idea of a piano competition was born.

Many thanks to all of the donors who are stepping up and contributing so we can offer Tennessee college scholarships to the winners. You will see that your gift will make a difference in a talented teenager’s life.

If you are a high school pianist, we hope that you will fill out the application and keep checking back for continuing updates. Good luck!
